If you are an Electrical Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in the business headquarters in Brookfield, CT, you will provide for the design and/or modification of Branson products, primarily in the area of electrical, controls, PLC, and HMI programming, and pneumatics.

AS AN ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 

  • Interface with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customers in the creation of design objectives and development proposals for projects.  Create task lists, milestones, and schedules related to the customer-specific products.
  • Design new or modify existing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls, for electro-mechanical machines. To include sizing and specifying components. 
  • Create new or modify existing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, for electro-mechanical machines.
  • Creating electrical bills of materials, drawings, and other documentation to support the assembly of machine controls and electrical systems.
  • Designing and keeping abreast of, changes in NFPA-79 and NFPA-70 standards. As well as UL508A panel best practices and OSHA-approved safety circuits and controls designs.
  • Create new or modify existing PLC and HMI programs.
  • Assist production with the assembly and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
  • Assist customers to troubleshoot both locally and remotely (at the customer site) as needed.
  • Provide electrical technical guidance to mechanical engineers and production personnel. To include training and mentoring in the area of controls or electrical.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related experience of five years in the design of electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • PLC and HMI programming experience with complex systems
  • Experience creating schematics using 2D CAD

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic controls systems
  • Experience with microprocessor programming and/or integrated controllers
  • Working knowledge of NFPA-79 and industrial machine controls standards
  • Experience in project engineering/management
