The Director, Rotary Business Unit Global Marketing provides team leadership and direction to grow sales and profitability of the specific business unit portfolio. This individual will provide the decision-making needed to balance long term growth objectives against short term opportunities and articulate issues to achieve sales, profitability, and customer service goals.

 Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining the near-, mid-, and long-term product growth plans through product portfolio roadmaps, leadership and direction of: strategic marketing, product marketing, marketing communications, field sales education, and sales enablement. 

This individual will help set core engineering priorities and provide leadership for managing product enhancements, product cost, and technology transitions (internal and external), including customer management of change.

This individual’s team will support new product development activities at critical times during the NPD process – voice of the customer, requirements setting, sales launch, and ramp up.

This individual has responsibility to drive year over year growth and profit improvement of a $275-500M portfolio, creating value for our customers and keeping Fisher Control Valves the first choice in the mind of the end user.

  

Essential Job Functions:

 As the Director, Global Marketing Rotary Business Unit, you will:

  • Work closely with business unit team members to create and implement product business plans.
  • Develop and implement team and individual goals that grow the Rotary Business Unit sales and enhance profitability.
  • Work closely with the world area marketing and sales teams to ensure global needs are considered. 
  • Provide input and support to new product development teams during critical phases.
  • Identify product gaps or overlaps and develops strategies to resolve.
  • Work closely with Marketing Communications to effectively develop and deliver the brand message.
  • Work with Engineering to ensure market leading features and products deliver to the demanding needs of our market and brand promise
  • Interact proactively with other divisions on all issues that impact brand control valves.
  • Understand field selling needs and develop strategies and materials to support.
  • Support the Sales and Operations Planning process, global forecasting and order insight.
  • Identify and develop business leaders to assure continuity of leadership.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for potential acquisition targets, strategic investment as well as competitive threats.

Education / Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with managing people both local and international.
  • Experience at collaborating with international work groups.
  • Experience providing customer presentations.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • MBA preferred.
  • Control valve business knowledge and experience desired.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A self starter that is able to plan and direct others.
  • Ability to interface directly with customers, sales channel, and upper management in critical customer situations.
  • Ability to manage without direct authority.
