Position Summary:

We are an equal opportunity organization looking for a leader to development the mid- and long-term portfolio roadmap for an industry leading strategic product business unit, passionate about understanding and solving our customers critical control valve issues helping them meet their sustainability goals!

Conduct market research to develop product roadmaps that include positioning and tiering strategies with associated business plans to set and achieve sales and profitability goals!

This role is intended to work globally with customers, our world area marketing and sales teams, and engineering to identify, define and develop new product concepts and acquisition strategies to find opportunities for new products and adjacent spaces to increase and/or expand market share.

 

Essential Job Functions:

·      Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by customers and non-customers visits

·      Share product concepts with critical team members to gather feedback and alignment

·      Travel to customer sites for face-to-face interaction

·      Conduct Sales Advisory Committee meetings

·      Identify adjacent space markets

·      Research, monitor and communicate dynamics in the world area such as segment growth, new opportunities, industry trends, strategic account movements and competitive intelligence that impact business unit performance.

·      Maintain knowledge base of competitive products on the market

·      Assist in the analysis of business trends, such as bookings, market participation, run rates, quote conversion rates, etc., and propose corrective strategies where applicable.

·      Work with country sales organizations to develop and ensure Product tiering strategies are implemented at the country level to improve wins in both volume and profit

·      Ability to gather and translate Voice of Customer research and technical product capabilities into the customer value proposition

·      Identify and communicate new products and/or enhancement to existing products and solutions. - Coordinate new product field testing and new product introductions and training. Strategic Planning Input - Provide input on major competitor strategies within the industry segment and identify regional market opportunities for products and solutions.

·      Sales & Profitability Analysis

·      Product Lifecycle Management

 

 

Education / Experience Required:

  • B.S. Engineering or B.A. in Marketing and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience, MBA preferred.
  • Business development and/or sales channel background needed to investigate and develop growth plans, market analysis, portfolio roadmaps, conduct competitive analysis, develop business cases and general growth strategies resulting in profitable growth.
  • Experience in process engineering, sales, business development, or marketing is required.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Must know process control or similar business, have a good knowledge of marketplace, competitive product, customers, applications, and ability to analyze adjacent space opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and technical applications of control valve or similar products
  • Identify and analyze acquisition targets
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical experts and non-technical sales people
  • Ability to develop strong global relationships
  • Strong communication skills to create a clear vision, customer value proposition, and sales intermediary value proposition
  • Summarize complex strategies to communicate to upper management

Supervisory Requirements:

No direct report responsibility at time of hire but candidate must possess the skillsets necessary to manage and lead a small team of product marketing talent.

 

Work Environment / Conditions:

Office environment.  May travel up to 25%, as needed.
