ElevationHR is hiring two Senior Data Scientists (GIS & Spatial Analytics) for a Fortune 500 energy & utilities company’s enterprise data science team in Downtown Houston, TX. This is a strategic, hands-on role leveraging geospatial data and AI/ML to optimize grid operations, infrastructure planning, and customer experience. If you’re passionate about ArcGIS, predictive modeling, and AI-driven spatial insights, this role is designed for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Predictive Models: Develop and deploy spatial ML models using GIS datasets
• Deliver Geospatial Insights: Conduct advanced geospatial analysis to support grid reliability, asset management, and customer analytics
• Work with Big Data: Handle large volumes of raster, vector, and satellite data in cloud environments
• Enable Enterprise AI: Integrate GIS data into AI pipelines and enterprise BI platforms
• Apply AI/ML Techniques: Use clustering, regression, classification, and deep learning for spatial problems
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Data Engineers, Architects, and Business Stakeholders to translate business challenges into analytical solutions
• Visualize & Communicate: Build dashboards and visualizations to share model outputs and recommendations
• Promote Responsible AI: Support governance and ethical AI practices in geospatial modeling

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of experience in data science, AI/ML, or geospatial analytics
• Expertise in ArcGIS, Python, R, and spatial libraries (Geopandas, GDAL, Rasterio)
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP) with ML tools (MLflow, TensorFlow, Databricks)
• Strong understanding of spatial data structures, CRS, and data pipelines
• Hands-on experience deploying and monitoring AI/ML models in production
• Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance in GIS
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Geomatics, Computer Science, or related field
• Ability to work hybrid onsite at 1111 Louisiana St., Houston, TX
